If you prefer to avoid file management decisions, and are looking for ease-of-use, then Lightroom CC is probably the best app for you. Lightroom CC automatically connects you and your photos to the Lightroom ecosystem. For my personal and professional workflow, I use Lightroom Classic on my computer and Lightroom on my phone and iPad, so I'll go ahead and click the Install button on each of these, and then while these are installing, let's talk a little bit about the pros and cons of each app. For the purpose of teaching you, I'm going to install both of them here, so please do as I say, not as I do. It's not a good idea to run both Lightroom apps side-by-side on the same computer. You should pick just one of these applications. If your Creative Cloud subscription includes both Lightroom and Lightroom Classic, you need to make a choice. Now, this is where you need to make a decision.

Here we see both of the desktop apps that we'll use for this course, Lightroom and Lightroom Classic. We can filter this down over here under Categories by clicking on photography. We're looking at the All Apps view which shows all of the available Creative Cloud applications, and you can see that a full Creative Cloud subscription includes a lot of apps. The Creative Cloud desktop app has finished installing and I've got it open here. If you're prompted to log into your Creative Cloud account, make sure that you sign in with the same credentials that you used when you purchased your subscription plan.

I've already got the Creative Cloud installer downloaded here, so I'm going to go ahead and open this to install the Creative Cloud desktop app.

If you're not automatically directed to the Creative Cloud desktop download, you can find it at this website here. After you purchase your plan, you may be automatically directed to a Creative Cloud desktop installer, and if so, just follow the directions to install the app. That includes application installers and updaters. The computer applications are available for download after you purchase your Creative Cloud plan from the Adobe website, but before you look to install Lightroom on your computer, you should first install the Creative Cloud desktop application, because the Creative Cloud desktop app is the control center for everything Creative Cloud.

I'll start here by installing Lightroom applications on this Mac computer and then finish by installing Lightroom on my mobile devices. The Lightroom ecosystem includes applications for your computer and apps for your mobile devices.
